Event Details

This accelerated training for new CET teachers is scheduled for four days over two weekends in January and February.  Participants must attend all four days - January 21-22 and February 25-26.  The training covers the major elements of the updated CompTIA A+ exams, including hardware, software, basic networking, security, troubleshooting, ethics and leadership.  Hands-on teaching strategies are stressed.  Participants will build a computer from a kit and take it back with them. Participants will emerge with a basic understanding of the ExplorNet/QTL content and other resources at their disposal, and will have an understanding of what extra study will be required to help them meet certification objectives.

Completing this training certifies participants to use ExplorNet/QTL’s resources and meets NCDPI endorsement requirements for T&I teachers to teach Computer Engineering Technology I & II. (As a separate issue, teachers must be licensed in the content area according to NCDPI rules.)

When registering, select a "participating school" ticket if your school has already paid the annual $625 fee for curriculum, resources and access to ExplorNet's online learning system ($1,425 including training, materials, computer kit and resources for the school year). If that fee has not been paid, select a "new school" ticket ($2,050 including training, materials, computer kit and resources for the school year).
